F News Unwrapped is a collection of multi-platform designs I made for F Newsmagazine.

Context
F Newsmagazine is an award-winning journal of arts, culture, and politics edited and designed by students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). The print edition is published eight times a year and distributed free around Chicago.

During the past presses, I was involved in a wide range of tasks from designing spreads for print issues, illustrating social media posts to creating motion graphic advertisements playing on digital screens across SAIC campus.

when this is over
Due to the COVID outbreak in March 2020, F News was not able to produce a printed issue in April. We came up with an alternate plan that our April issue will be digital. During the one-week long production of this special stay-at-home themed digital issue, I was responsible for:

Designing two articles with an initial template provided by the Art Director;

Assisting the Art Director to build a third of the website on Webflow;

Illustrating two articles and implementing the illustrations on the website

When This is Over is one of the articles I designed. It is an audio collage on post-quarantine life by Luis López.

In spring 2020, to increase the click through rate of F Newsmagazine website, I transformed one of the web articles into a customized, interactive website. Unlike the regular static web articles we post most of the time, this article aims at inviting our audience to visit our website more frequently to discover more engaging and interactive experience.
